End User License Agreement

1. Grant of License

Subject to your compliance with this Agreement, Manumit grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, limited license to:

• Download, install, and execute the Application on personal mobile devices (Android) that you own or control.
• Access and use the web-based Application via compatible web browsers for your personal, non-commercial task and time management purposes.

All rights not expressly granted to you under this Agreement are reserved by Manumit.

2. License Restrictions

You agree that you will not, and will not permit any third party to:

• Decompile or Reverse Engineer: Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code or underlying algorithms of the Application, except to the extent permitted by applicable law.
• Modify or Adapt: Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based upon the Application.
• Distribute or Transfer: Rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute, sublicense, or otherwise transfer the Application or your rights under this Agreement to any third party.
• Bypass Protections: Circumvent, disable, or tamper with any security mechanisms, client-side encryption, authentication workflows, or rate limits implemented within the Application or the API (split-task-api.landua-cedric.workers.dev).
• Misuse Infrastructure: Use automated scripts, bots, scrapers, or excessive programmatic requests to disrupt or place an unreasonable load on the Cloudflare Worker or D1 database infrastructure.
• Unlawful Use: Use the Application for any unlawful purpose or in violation of local, state, national, or international laws.

3. Local-First Architecture & Cloud Sync

Split Task operates on a local-first data model. You acknowledge and understand the operational mechanics of your data:

3.1 Local Storage & Offline Usage

• Device Storage: The Application stores your tasks, calendar events, categories, and settings locally on your device via localStorage and browser storage.
• Guest / Device-Only Mode: If you use the App in device-only mode (without creating an account), your data remains exclusively on your physical device. Uninstalling the App or clearing browser data will permanently erase your data. We have no ability to recover offline-only data.

3.2 Cloud Syncing & Authentication

• Full-Set Replacement Sync: When signed into an account, your data syncs across devices using a full-set replacement model. The backend server maintains your state by replacing server-side datasets with the complete list of items, categories, and settings pushed by your active device during sync operations.
• Client-Side Hashing: Passwords are hashed client-side using SHA-256 via the Web Crypto API prior to transmission. We do not store or process plaintext passwords.
• Automated Data Maintenance: If enabled in your App settings, automated background routines (including server cron jobs) may push incomplete task deadlines forward or permanently purge deleted items based on your configured delete_after_days retention rule.

4. User Accounts & Termination

• Account Creation: To enable cross-device synchronization, you may create an account requiring a username (up to 14 characters) and a password adhering to standard complexity requirements.
• Account Deletion: You may permanently delete your account and associated cloud data at any time via the in-app Delete Account flow under Settings. Account deletion is executed as an immediate batch transaction on the server, permanently purging your user record, items, categories, and settings.
• Termination by Developer: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account or restrict access to backend sync services at our sole discretion, without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated this EULA or engaged in abusive network behavior.

5. Free-of-Charge & No-Ad Commitment

Split Task is provided free of charge ("Free entirely"). There are no paywalls, hidden in-app purchases, or third-party advertising networks integrated into the Application.

Because the Application is provided without financial charge, Manumit reserves the right to modify, update, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the backend cloud sync services at any time without liability to you.

6. Intellectual Property

The Application, including its branding, "Split Task" trademark, logos, dynamic layout engines, color/theme engines, UI designs, site structure (manumit.studio), and codebase, is the intellectual property of Manumit and its licensors.

You retain full ownership of the text, task descriptions, and personal notes ("User Data") that you input into the Application. Manumit claims no intellectual property rights over your User Data.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, MANUMIT EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
• Guarantees of uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free operation of the Application or cloud sync services.
• Guarantees against local or cloud data loss, accidental deletion, or desynchronization.
• Accuracy of natural-language parsing (e.g., Quick Add date/time detections).

You assume full responsibility and risk for your use of the Application and for maintaining independent backups of critical task or calendar data.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MANUMIT, ITS DEVELOPERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, DEVICE MALFUNCTION, OR MISSED DEADLINES/EVENTS) ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APPLICATION, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE APPLICATION EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU, IF ANY, FOR ACCESSING THE APPLICATION (WHICH IS $0.00).

9. Support & User Communications

Support requests, feedback, or bug reports submitted via the in-app support module or sent directly to our support email are subject to the following conditions:

• Support tickets are stored in our ticketing database (ST-TICKETS) for administrative review and resolution.
• We aim to address tickets in a timely manner ("human replies promised"), but we do not guarantee specific response times or SLA commitments.
• Submitting abusive, malicious, or spam content through the support ticketing system may result in account termination.

10. Privacy & Legal Policies

Your use of the Application is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Application, you acknowledge and consent to the data practices outlined in the Privacy Policy.

11. Modifications to this Agreement

We reserve the right to modify or update this EULA at any time. When updates are published, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the Application after any such updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised EULA.

12. Governing Law & Severability

Governing Law: This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Severability: If any provision of this Agreement is held to be invalid or unenforceable, such provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions of this Agreement shall remain in full force and effect.
